In 1977, a star was born by the name of Tiffany Monique Marshall. Following her family legacy, Tiffany was predestined to sing. Since the age of 3 years old, she has nurtured, developed and enjoyed this ability. She continued to enhance this gift when she was offered a full scholarship to Morgan State University for singing. There, she was a soloist for the world-renowned Morgan Singers, under the direction of Dr. Nathan Carter. As a member of Morgan Singers, she had several privileges, which included performing across the nation in various churches and concert halls. Tiffany also performed as a soloist for the inauguration of Kweisi Mfume, CEO of the NAACP. As a member of the female trio, OnPoint, Tiffany sang lead and background vocals on the remix of Fe Fi Fo Fum by MCA recording artists K-Ci & Jo-Jo.
1998 thru 2000 were pivitol years for Tiffany. Along with group members of OnPoint, she experienced several false starts in the recording industry, broken promises, contract battles with management that eventually led to a harsh separation, and other personal experiences. After overcoming these obstacles and re-evaluating her life, Tiffany realized that it was time for a change. She decided to leave the group and continue her pursuits as a solo artist. In an effort to solidify this commitment, she adopted the name Niara- Swahili for of high purpose.
As a child, Tiffany's goal was to use her God given talent to the best of her ability. As Niara, she takes a new turn, yet continues to strive for this goal. Her style derived from gospel, hip-hop and R&B influences. She possesses a natural talent that is as equally impressive with or without accompaniment. Furthermore, her studio and live performances are soul stirring and breathtaking. Niara has definitely proven to be in a class by herself. Multi-platinum producer, Darryl Pearson, of Jodeci, Dru Hill and Mya fame, refers to her as the eighth wonder of the world. It is time for you to experience this wonder. Therefore, I encourage you to sit back, relax, but most importantly, hold on to your chairs as you witness this beautiful phenomenon. It is time for a treasure that is long overdue...
